Buffalo Horn has been manufactured for every day uses for centuries. Genuine horn frames have benefits beyond their beauty, incomparable comfort and durability. They are hypoallergenic, very light weight and are less likely to lose their shape than most materials. The horn in its natural state can also be combined with other material such as silk or wood to create an endless spectrum of colors. The horn that is used for all our eyeglasses is carefully selected and is a natural product of the domesticated Asian water buffalo.
Titanium is strong, weather resistant and extremely lightweight. Full frames can weigh as little as three grams (0.10 oz) and come in a variety of shapes, colors and finishes. Our titanium collection is handmade in Switzerland using the latest laser technology - and just as with horn and acetate titanium is hypoallergenic. Any other materials, like Buffalo Horn and Acetate, can be combined with titanium to create a unique frame.
Acetate is the highest grade of plastic material used for manufacturing eyewear today. It is more durable, lighter in weight, is non-petroleum based, hypoallergenic and holds color better than everyday plastic. Our acetate frames are handmade in our own workshop from a cellulose block that is derived from cotton lint in the southern part of Germany. This allows us to offer an endless variety of shapes and over 200 colors – each frame can be customized to suit our client’s individual style and desires. We also offer custom duplication. We can recreate any frame that has been discontinued.
